Toronto, December 14, 2016 – On December 14, 2016 (the “Filing Date”), BG Furniture Ltd. (“BG”) filed a Notice of Intention to Make a Proposal (the “NOI”) pursuant to section 50.4(1) of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. A Certificate of Filing of a Notice of Intention to Make a Proposal (the “Certificate”) was issued by the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy Canada and a trustee was appointed in the proposal (the “Proposal Trustee”).
On January 12, 2017, on application of Grenville Strategic Royalty Corp., the Ontario Superior Court of Justice issued an order terminating the 30-day period within which BG must put forward its proposal to creditors and substituting/appointing A. Farber & Partners Inc. as the trustee in bankruptcy of BG and discharging the Proposal Trustee.
